If your organization qualifies for a Texas sales tax exemption, or if you purchase decorated items for resale to your own customers, you may be required to provide a completed certificate before your order is processed.
Important note for sports leagues, booster clubs, and youth organizations: Having a federal tax ID number (EIN) or IRS nonprofit status does not automatically mean your organization is exempt from Texas sales tax. Nonprofit organizations must separately apply for and receive exemption status from the Texas Comptroller before making tax-free purchases. You can verify your organization’s status using the Texas Comptroller’s Exempt Organizations page.
A certificate on file with us covers future orders as long as your exempt or resale status remains valid. If your status changes, it is your responsibility to notify us. We are required to keep all certificates on file for a minimum of four years.
As a seller, we accept properly completed certificates in good faith. Responsibility for the accuracy of the claimed exemption rests with the purchaser. Improperly claimed exemptions may result in tax liability for your organization.
